Mississippi Diploma Options

Mississippi Scholar and Mississippi Tech Master Scholar is an honor bestowed upon seniors who have followed a very rigorous course of study in grades 9 - 12.  These students take classes in English, math, history, science, as well as foreign language and/or advanced electives.  Their science and math courses have to be from a higher rigor and content than what is required by the state of Mississippi.  These students have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and an ACT score of 19 or above, 36 or above on the ASVAB, or Silver Level on the ACT WorkKeys. These students are also required to complete 80 hours of community service during high school. Selected students must also demonstrate good attendance, behavior and character.  The link below includes specific criteria and coursework that must be taken to receive this honor.

Community Service:

Students are not required to complete community service hours for graduation, but they must complete 80 hours  for MS Scholar/Tech Master Scholar honors.  There are a number of scholarships available to seniors that look at the student's community service hours.  The link to log community service hours is located on our home page under "Quick Links."
